Olivia is now 9 months old. We had her appt. today and she weighed in at 17 lbs 3 oz. She has finally made it into the 25th percentile for weight! Yea--good thing for Gerber baby foods:)

Some acquaintances of ours have sheep and they make me smile! Olivia wasn't impressed with their baa-ing skills.
This is taken at Mark and Jodee's home before Bill's staff Christmas Party Friday night.
Olivia is always excited to play with Ellie, Jackson, and her buddy Will (2 years old.)
Happy to hang with her dad.

Good Morning

We all got a great night of rest last night. Olivia had some apple Yobaby this morning and is currently down for a nap. I think we'll go to the library when she wakes up.
She loves her Elmo book and can't get enough attention from her dad.
She loves to sing pattycake and can do a few of the hand motions.

We're hosting our community group Thanksgiving dinner tonight! I'm so excited to eat together! Last night I tried out a new recipe for pumpkin muffins, and it is my new favorite.
Although the muffins turned out great, the honey wheat bread pictured below is a sad story. And yes, what you are looking at is the final, baked product. Good thing Bill told me he likes "dense" breads.

Olivia has started to crawl on her hands and feet. It's really funny to watch, especially on the slippery floor.

Facebook

So, I just discovered some people I never thought would join facebook...

My Mom, and my Grandma. Way to go!! And welcome to facebook!

p.s. they haven't accepted my friend request yet, so I'm not sure how serious they are:)
A couple pictures of everyday life here.

Elmo

Olivia is into Elmo right now. She especially loves the clip with Andre Bocelli and Elmo singing the duet "It's time to say Goodnight." She enjoyed her time with David before going to bed Saturday night.

Dancing

The wooden trunk is our way of "child proofing" the dvd player. Also, it's a perfect size for Olivia to pull herself up on.

Olivia is a very busy baby. As you can see, she's sick with a cold but that doesn't stop her. We probably cuddled and rested a total of 3 minutes today (which is more than usual but still not enough for a sick baby!) Today's happenings include:
This is her way of showing interest in Christmas catalogs.

8 Months Old Today

This is the best I could do for this little squirt on the move. Nothing fancy but here she is --
8 months old.

Weekend with David

We had a short but wonderful visit with my cousin David. I think Olivia woke up looking for him yesterday morning.
She LOVED playing with him.

We spent Saturday afternoon at the Virginia Living Museum

She loved the museum, especially being outside--so much to see!

YouTube is very entertaining

Awaiting David's arrival

My cousin David flies in tonight and we're ready and patiently waiting! I'm making pumpkin pie and am quite pleased with how it looks (at least before I put it in.) I cheated with refrigerated crust, but I did my own pinching of the edges.
Olivia has been sucking on her upper lip all day long. It looks really funny!

This is while watching Elmo on youtube.

Bananas

Bananas are not her favorite yet

She loves her toy bucket
All tuckered out from playing (a rare moment)
Today we went to the Prime Outlets in Williamsburg. I found a few great deals, but the steal of the day and my favorite is this little pilot cap from Hanna Anderson.
Getting ready to eat squash

Flexible

When we got home from our community group monday night, this is how she was sleeping. She has been having a hard time going down lately, so she probably sat up crying until she got tired and then just fell forward into a deep sleep.

our weekend away

This past weekend we took a trip to Lynchburg, VA. It's where we lived the first year of our marriage, but we've only been back once. We visited our old church, Grace and it was really nice to worship together. We spent Saturday afternoon with Bill's college friends, Mark and Kristie and their kids, and then went to our favorite old movie theater ($2 each) and saw Get Smart. We had the privilege of staying at Brian and Tara Miller's home Friday and Saturday while Tara and the boys were out of town.

Sunday afternoon was spent with old friends from church, Joy and Brian and their two girls. It was very so refreshing to be with them, and we even got to hear a few songs from Brian. Sunday night we got a great deal on the Craddock Terry Hotel in downtown Lynchburg and really lived it up! We had calamari and pizza in the restaurant downstairs from our room and then went "swimming" in our tub with Olivia (which she LOVED.)

Monday morning we had a very fancy continental breakfast in the lobby. Mid morning to early afternoon was spent at one of Bill's favorite people's house, the Stewarts. Warren and Bill caught up and Julie and I hung out with Olivia. We had a quick lunch at The Depot Grille and then headed back to reality in Hampton Roads. What a wonderful weekend!
